Good morning from Yuzawa.

Yesterday remained rather cold for the day with mostly cloud cover and even a bit of light snow falling at higher elevations.

There is quite a lot of cloud about this morning but some blue sky as well, and the sun has been appearing from time to time. Cloud and sun is pretty much what is on the forecast for the day today. It was cold overnight and early on but it is likely to get a little warmer today - perhaps up to around 4C later on in town.

Tomorrow should get a little warmer still with perhaps some rain/sleet later on. But let's skip that and look forward to what is lined up from Monday evening onwards. And it looks rather promising. Some potential for heavy snowfall from Tuesday onwards and it will certainly be most welcome.

Monday is a national holiday in Japan and so today is the first of three holidays for lots of people. It's also one of the more popular weekends of the season and so usually we can expect it to be busy. The ski resorts are opening up as much as possible now and there's a few now boasting 'fully open' status with more closing in on that.

Good to see the South Area of GALA Yuzawa open as well - they have their Batman and Eliza courses now available.

With the current situation I would expect the higher resort areas to be particularly popular as people seek out the best snow conditions.

Have a fun weekend and let's keep one eye on that forecast!
