Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

We're seeing teases of some more wintery weather here, but nothing super promising yet. It looks like we could get a good bit of cover tonight, though, as the temperatures have dropped and wet snow has already started.

The mountain is still reporting solid snow up top and corn snow down low today with no new buildup.

The forecast for the coming days is promising, but at this time of year nothing inspires much confidence. We could see a healthy dose of April snow, or we could simply see strong winds and a bit of somewhat miserable cold rain. Best bet is to be ready to take advantage of whatever comes and otherwise enjoy what spring conditions there are!

Bottom - 180cm

Niseko Avalanche Report:

Niseko base 6am:+2C, no snowfall in the past 12 hours but 10cm melted. Coastal data: NNE3m/s at Benkei cape, 0.9m waves and 1005hPa at Kamui cape. Annupuri peak: southerly wind, windspeed n/a, -5.6C. Annupuri 1000m: 475cm snowdepth.
Snowfall transition: A strong wind continued until late night due to passing low-pressure system and cold front. The wind calmed down early morning. Warm air is flowing in with the southerly wind and will make the snow melt under 1000m altitude. However, moderate cold air is flowing above 1100m making the temperature go down and thick fog due to air-mass transposition is expected.
Hazard evaluation: The surface is turning into wet grain corn snow under 800m though is suitable fro skiing. The largely developed snowdrifts and cornices in the leeward areas are unstable and likely to break. Climax (ground) avalanche risk is rising in the following coordinates: E7, E6, F5 and G8-H8.
Gates: Peak gates are scheduled to open as soon as they’re ready, however may close anytime if visibility is too bad. Please respect the ski patrol’s decisions. Stay away from valley and gully bottoms in order to avoid critical accidents. Route finding expresses that person’s senses. Niseko is not promulgating out of bounds skiing/riding, however is respecting everyone’s freedom to ski/ride and, at the same time, is deeply concerned about their safety.
