Yesterday unfortunately remained mostly fine with little snow falling and things looked to have cleared up in the evening. But then around midnight it started snowing and it hasn't stopped adding around 30-40cm of classic Niseko powder. It is still snowing heavily. Another day or two of this and the mountain should be able to open most of the gates on the mountain.
The snow is expected to ease a little this afternoon but then start up again tomorrow and continue through Thurday.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 240
Bottom - 100

Niseko Village:
Top - 105
Bottom - 70

Top - 120
Bottom - 90

Avalanche Information:

Mountain base: -7℃, 30cm of fresh snowfall in the past 12hours and no development of snowdrifts. Coastal data: W16m/s at Benkei cape, SW14m/s, 2.1m waves and 986hPa at Kamui cape. Predicted wind at 1500m at noon: WSW20m/s.
Cornices and snowdrifts are developing around 800m elevation due to the moderate westerly storm. Although the snow in the trees is getting better, looking at various data and the snowfall transition, the development of cornices and snowdrifts above 1000m is relatively rapid. Caution is demanded when riding leeward ridgeline, steep slopes, knolls and gullies. Most of avalanche related accidents occur during a snowstorm. Be conscious of the risks you’re taking. Do not duck ropes to step out of bounds. Seek for the ski patrol’s advices. The snow is good but yet enough for the gates to open. Have a nice day
