Light snowfalls continued through yesterday and a little overnight, not much accumulation but keeping surface conditions pretty good out there. By all accounts there's some fairly deep snow to be found out in the bowls and today the peak gates have opened again giving access to fresh lines for those prepared to earn their turns.
Currently there is only light cloud around the mountain with some light snow falling but the sun is also poking through. Winds are mostly light but still a little brisk around the peak. It's also quite cold and the snow is very dry. Similar conditions are expected to continue over the next few days.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 320
Bottom - 200

Niseko Village:
Top - 370
Bottom - 230

Annupuri:
Top - 320
Bottom - 210

Avalanche Information:

Niseko Avalanche Info No.58

Moiwa base 6am: -7℃ and slight snowfall.
Coastal data: NW6m/s at Benkei cape, N7m/s, 1.5m waves and 1020hPa at Kamui cape.
Annupuri peak: -15℃ and a 15m/s WNW is predicted to blow around noon.
Upper Mizuno no sawa: NW6.7m/s, -11.5℃ and 10cm of new snow.
There are no notable developments of snowdrifts and the general avalanche risk is low.
Peak gates are scheduled to open at 10:00.
Most accidents occur during a storm when the development of snowdrifts are drastic.
Take not only the layer configuration but also the past weather transition into consideration when performing a snow pit evaluation.
A persisting storm is already a good reason to risen the avalanche hazard.
The snow in the trees is good/mostly reset although yesterday’s tracks are remaining.
Be careful not to hit trees.
NEVER duck ropes!
