Last night it snowed quite a bit here at the foot of Niseko village. I personally removed 15cm of snow which fell from about 10:00 PM last night. Today should be a very good day to hit anywhere in the Niseko area. All the resorts will be good and the snow should be fun. There are still some deep places to be found and untracked to be slain. We have about a 50% chance of snow today which means intermittent weather. There will be patches of visibility amongst moments of snowfall.

Get out there and enjoy the new snow!

Niseko Avalanche Report Reads:

Niseko base 6am: -7℃, 25cm of crystal snow in the past 12hours.
Coastal wind: NW11m/s at Benkei cape.
Annupuri peak wind: NW10.6m/s.
A moderate wind with snowfall (<15m/s) is persisting above 800m altitude.
40cm thick surface slab avalanche hazard is raising in leeward slopes with newly developed snowdrifts. Potentially hazardous areas are north of coordinates C4D4 in Moiwa & the knolls of Mikaeri areas, south of F5 O-sawa cornice areas, north of E6F6 Backbowl sidewalls and east of G7 Higashi-One area.
Be conscious of the risks involved in backcountry riding.
The snow surface has been lightly reset and is in good condition.
Peak gates are scheduled to open at 9:30am. Listen to the ski patrol’s advices before stepping out of the gates.
Crossing boundary ropes is strictly prohibited. A single track left across a rope may lead many others to do the same and increase the possibilities of accidents to happen.
A crack is starting to form in Fujiwara no sawa (NW of H7), however is not visible from above. Be careful not to fall into it.
