Easter weekend continues to prove there is life in this season yet with yesterday snowing pretty constantly and winds staying nice and low. Hardly anyone out there either.

We all woke to a fantastic treat this morning as a good 15cm of extremely powdery snow had fallen overnight giving some truly amazing, and perhaps unexpected, conditions.

It's always a good time of year for the people who live in Niseko and surrounding areas to get some time on the slopes after a busy season - and they must truly feel like they have been rewarded.

Overall lift coverage remains excellent, same as yesterday, with the calm winds and pleasant temperatures and there are sure to be many late season skiers who will go home with tales of fantastic April riding. 2011-12 has been, from beginning to middle and end one for the record books, or so it feels. Whilst numbers of visitors overall were down after last years events in Tohoku, those who didn't make the trip this year may be kicking themselves! Just check those official snow depths below - still over 4m according to the resorts and a fair bit more than this time last year if you take a look at the Niseko Now archives on the site.

Last week the cherry blossom forecast was released, giving a date of May 8th for the Niseko area - if we get a few more weekends like this I would have to say they got that one wrong... spring still feels a long way away.

Below is the latest information from the resort areas in Niseko regarding planned lift operation plans - subject to change:
