Well it has been basically snowing since yesterday and not much else. Not a bad thing to report of course, though some of the weekend people may have ideally wanted things to clear up a bit for their weekend trip. No such luck as the snow keeps on falling.

This morning Kagura are reporting 60cm of new snowfall since yesterday and I can certainly believe that. Lower down it is probably somewhere around 40cm or so, I would guess. Whatever the number, we have no shortage of snow right now and there looks like there is more coming... lots more. This current storm may well have peaked in terms of heavy snowfall but it looks like it is going to hand over the baton directly to another storm on it's way that should be bringing in more heavy snow conditions mid-week coming up. THIS is Snow Country! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

This morning there seems to be some electrical problem up at Kagura which is affecting some facilities up there including the No1 quad, No4 pair lift as well as a few restaurants. Unfortunately they are not open as something needs to be fixed. It seems unclear as to when we can expect that to happen. So this morning Mitsumata Ropeway to the Kagura Gondola and Tashiro Ropeway to the Tashiro No6 pair lift areas are open over at Kagura.

All lifts are planned to be open today at Naeba including all the Gondolas, though a few of the lifts were experiencing some delays getting started this morning.

Winds don't seem to be causing any problems with lifts and hopefully the same will apply tomorrow too.

Forecast = snow! Get wrapped up and enjoy this delicious snow!

Resort Operations, 28th January (subject to change)
Naeba:All areas open apart from Mens Riesen Slalom and Mens Slalom, courses. Most lifts operating including all Gondolas.
