Snow snow snow snow snow snow snow! Yes, it has snowed. And it has done so in decent style as well, considering the day. Unconfirmed by my eyes of course - yet! - but Kagura resort this morning as reporting an exciting sounding 20-30cm of snow on the mountain since last night. Quite surprising, but a good one at that.

It's a cold morning as you might expect. Right now, -4 in the village and -10 at the top of Naeba with Kagura reporting -7 degrees. The snow has stopped though and in fact the sun has started to shine in Naeba at least with those hotel shadows making their mark on the lower slopes of the resort. There is a still a considerable amount of cloud around but looks most likely to clear up more as the day moves on and warm up too. Forecast-wise, just cloud and more of the same tomorrow.

It gets better. Some of the pin-point forecasts are calling for moderate to heavy snowfall around Wednesday night into Thursday, so it seems we're not done yet.

Conditions out there should be better than they have been for a fair while I would say - they need to be enjoyed!

All resort areas appear to be open as planned this morning.

(Please note that while there has been that new snow, the official snow depth numbers below don't seem to have changed).

Official Snow Depths:

Naeba:
180cm

Kagura:
350cm

Kagura (Tashiro):
310cm
