The weather is taunting us in Myoko; it was foggy below, with the peaks showing clear high up. Then the fog moved up and it's heard to see what's going on up there, although it's a little brighter at base level, so maybe it's sunny and warm up high. Sun was forecast for yesterday and today, but we got soupy fog and some pretty awful ski conditions, to be brutally honest with you, dear reader. We've had a super season, so why exaggerate; yesterday was not good (except below base on cross-country skis, which was great fun).

If you want to know how weird the weather is, today's official snow report has resorts announcing that it is sunny (Akakura Onsen, Akakan and Seki), raining (Suginohara), cloudy (Ikenotaira, Myoko Ski Park, Kyukamura and Tangram) and foggy (Madarao). Variety! So much in one region....

Snow is also on the menu, and we hope so, or backcountry (especially) is going to remain on pretty crusty, nasty snow. It would be better if it got warm and we could start to enjoy spring snow on the massive snowpack that is still out there. Sun would be nice, actually.... Or that March powder that can and in recent years has arrived.
