As predicted, today is yet another warm, sunny day.

Long range, we finally have a possibility of heavy snow during the weekend - that's no guarantee, of course, but adds a bit of hope. We may actually get some snow in the coming days (although also maybe some rain tomorrow), so things aren't entirely bleak.

But we do need the snow; there's a lot of brown and grass (and, yuk, rocks) showing here and there, and the resorts are reporting a quickly diminishing snow depth. Good time not to use your best skis! (and tough times for rental shops).

It's no consolation if you're here now for a short vacation, but the season has only begun; there's lots of winter left ahead.
