Not much has changed since yesterday. Things stayed cold, so there wasn't much loss of snow depth, despite no new snowfall overnight. It's a nice day at base, but with what looks like it could be flurries around the peaks. There's that look around Mt. Kanna, just north of Mt. Myoko—the peak is white with reduced visibility, but it's different from the mountain mists.

Let's hope the Niigata Nippo newspaper is correct, with the snowman mark up for the rest of the week's weather forecast.

Akakura Onsen:
Ginrei No. 3, No. 5; Kumado No. 1, No. 2 No. 4, No. 6; Yodel Super Quad; Chuo Lift; Maruyama Triple; Sekimi Pair Lift. Operating 8:30 to 4. Night skiing at Kumado, 5 to 9 p.m.
