It is snowing out there right now. We did not get the 5cm predicted by the official Niigata website, but we can forgive them for that. There literally was only a dusting of snow on the measurement boards this morning, but it's falling at a rate now that we might get some measurable snow during the morning.

We have our little dondonyaki festival this afternoon in the Akakura Kanko neighborhood; we'll augment our usual toasts in the local saké with some serious pleading with the local spirits (and not the liquid ones).

One caution: a lot of the resorts are not changing snow depths, only changing the temperatures, or not changing anything, and we know conditions are shifting. Take note before you go! But it is snowing....
