Original morning report:

Morning from Hakuba.

Yesterday there was snow falling in higher areas in the daytime with some blue skies and clearings of clouds starting to appear in the afternoon. So a bit of a daytime refresh up there, though no new cm to report down at base. And this morning the resorts around the valley are not reporting any fresh snowfall.

There are more lifts and courses opening up though - noted below - as things start to get busier and busier for the upcoming New Year holidays.

We would all so much love to experience a good old dumping on in time for the New Year... might we get that tonight?

It is a lovely early morning with a pleasant mix of sunshine, blue sky and thin calm-looking clouds; but snow clouds are expected to move in to the region once again by later this afternoon and bring fresh snow with them.

Before that happens, it is a cold start to the day so best to get wrapped up and enjoy the clearer skies while they last.

I'm looking forward to my report tomorrow.
