A very cold night has been followed by a stunning clear morning in Hakuba. The sun is out, bright blue skies and not a cloud to be seen over the village and mountain backdrop. Things look spectacular this morning. We are going to see things warm up during the early afternoon to perhaps around +4 degrees so it will be getting pretty mild and more of the same is forecast for tomorrow.

Resorts in the valley were still very quiet over the weekend but I would say a more yesterday than on Saturday. We are back to weekdays now though so I expect things to be quiet again.

In resort news, the Tsugaike should be re-opening today, though both the smaller Sanosaka and Minekata resorts are now both closed for the season.
