Light rain this morning I'm afraid. It's not the crime it is mid-season of course, but still we would prefer to avoid it. Lots of cloud and fog around making visibility variable depending on where you are, but limited in places.

Rain expected (maybe on and off) for the day and into tomorrow morning though hopefully will ease off during the day tomorrow.

The sun should be back from Wednesday.

Not many people around this morning, it's all extremely quiet. Perhaps to be expected. But if you want Happo or Goryu or 47 or Tsugaike almost to yourself... now is the time!

Official snow depth numbers and operations at resorts remaining open (as of 21st April 2014):

Hakuba Goryu:
Plans to be open until early May. Top area open, Champion Expert closed, Toomi used to get back to base though very narrow! Iimori area closed.
Upper - 160cm
Toomi - 25cm

Hakuba 47:
Plans to be open until early May. Almost all of Hakuba 47 remains open.
Upper - 140cm
Lower - 30cm

Happo-one:
Plans to be open until early May. Top areas (Riesen Grat, Usagidaira, Kurobishi, Panorama, Skyline) open. Need to get lift back down to base.
Usagidaira - 110cm

Tsugaike Kogen:
Plans to be open until early May. Upper areas remain open.
Tsuganomori - 205cm

All other resorts now closed for the season.
