Hello and good morning from Hakuba.

After that wet kind of day yesterday with some strong winds overnight there is good news this morning... ski areas are reporting snowfall on the mountain. Up to 20cm of it. There's just a little down to base areas, but that is certainly better than rain. And the even better news is that we should be getting some decent snowfall through Thursday, perhaps the most coming in around tomorrow evening.

Top lifts at Happo-one and Tsugaike Kogen are closed at the start of the day; most of Goryu/47 seems to be opening. Other lifts might be affected.

And here is the table:

TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION SO FAR (UPPER AREAS)

Hakuba 47670cm
Hakuba Cortina800cm
Hakuba Goryu862cm
Hakuba Happo-one758cm
Tsugaike Kogen782cm

The 'total snowfall accumulation' data shown in the table on this page (above) is the total amount of snowfall that the ski areas have themselves reported from the upper areas of their resort since the beginning of the season. We manually check and update this official data just before we publish each Hakuba Now report. Any odd-looking numbers are due to the source data. We have no control over the data. Just to be extra clear, unlike our own ‘observed snowfall’ data from base that we show at the top of each report, the data in the table is not an independent observation by SnowJapan.
