The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here

It is a sunny quiet morning here in Hakuba.

All the resorts are still operating close to normal except for a few lifts and gondolas are still not operating due to the big earthquake happened 3 days ago. The Tsugaike Ropeway and Gondola are not moving yet, and about 7 lifts including the gondola at Happo One are not operating. It is probably a good idea to please check with ski report for latest update before heading out to mountains.

Ever since the earthquakes in the Tohoku region, Hakuba village has felt almost empty.... yesterday felt very strange for a Sunday.

As far as the weather forecast, it should be sunny until this afternoon and then start raining around 9 p.m. tonight. South to south west wind. It seems like we are due to get some snowfall on Wednesday and Thursday in the region..

There have still been a few small aftershakes around northern Nagano regions (though nothing really here) - this is nothing major but please be exteremely careful with avalanches. It is highly advisable to stay within resort boundaries at this time.
