Continued light flurries overnight have brought another 5 cms of light powder to add to the already great early season slopes. The ski hills operating in the valley are still only running their top lifts as there is still not enough of a base on the lower slope. This being said, all resorts with snow making are keeping busy blasting out the man made snow on the lower slopes as temperatures are remaining low.

Temperatures at 09:00 this morning were -1 in the valley and -4 at 1500 metres. This past weekend saw the slopes fill up with more skiers, riders and families sledding with their children still making use of early season lift prices that will continue until the 14th of December.

The reports from locals who were out shredding up the fresh pow was that there was indeed 40 cm or more of great powder at the sides of the runs and in other stashes that only those locals in the know were making use of. Looks as though we will just be receiving light occasional flurries until the weekend when it looks like it will start snowing again.

Backcountry Travel Advisory:

There's enough snow now to produce large scale avalanches big enough to bury a person. Travel with caution if going back-country/off-piste. Also watch for partially buried rocks/stumps etc. under fresh powder. potential human triggered slides in wind deposited convex rolls and gullies. Be especially cautious with possible warming and rain mid week as well as solar radiation on southern aspects.
