At 7am this morning the weather in Hakuba was wet with some cloud cover, however itʼs now 9am and the cloud has increased and covered the mountain. It is actually snowing higher up on the mountains but, for example, rain is being reported at both base and top of the Hakuba 47 resort and similar stories around the village. There is no wind about early on this morning and the temperature is about 2 degrees now, though it should start to get colder as the day progresses. And hopefully the rain will turn into snow - snow showers are expected down to village late afternoon and this should continue until next week.

In fact, the weekend is looking like it could be, what's the word, .... epic! Some very heavy snowfall, strong winds and cold temperatures are on the current forecast and if it happens then we can expect the season to really kick into gear from early next week. We'll keep an eye on that.

All planned lifts are operating as they have been, although visibility will be poor for the most part this morning out there. Take care!

Resorts currently part open & operating lifts:

Happo-one:
Gondola
Alpen quad
Kurobishi No2 quad
Kokusai No3 pair

Hakuba Goryu:
Gondola
No1 pair lift

Tsugaike Kogen:
Gondola
Hannoki pair
