Good morning from Hakuba.

It was a beautiful day yesterday.

This morning there is more cloud around and it has been quite a cold start. It will be another mild day though even without the sun.

The snow on the fields by the roads in the village has been quickly disappearing in recent days with ground now showing through in more places. I noticed it on the way to Hakuba 47 yesterday. That's always kind of sad to see, but we ski and board on the mountain and we're still good with lots of snow up there.

And / But!!

I am hoping that it might get covered up again with some lovely fresh snow. There's a chance of some tomorrow (though maybe borderline rain down in town) and also come Wednesday/Thursday. Fingers crossed everyone.

-----

By the way, the Tsugaike Ropeway (located at the top of the ski hill) opened yesterday and will now be open until the end of the season (planned 6th May). It operates from 8:30am until 5:00pm. There is an extra charge to use the Ropeway and you need to fill out a mountain climbing notification if you plan to do that.

-----

The report tomorrow might be a bit later as I am going to be doing some extra checking and probably adding some more resort-specific information to the reports.
