Good morning from a cloudy Grandeco.

Some snowfall around the Gondola peak station, but it was rain last night at base area and so there is no new snow to record today...

Temperature remain a little warm this morning but according to the forecast, it will get colder and snow is due tonight.

Three ski resorts are open today in the region - Minowa, Nekoma and Grandeco. The ski resorts located to the south of Mt. Bandai will decide to open or not tomorrow after the snowfall tonight.

Something of interest to English-speaking folk. The Fukushima government is having a campaign for foreigners and here's some details:

People who were born between 1993-1998, foreign passport holders can get a free lift pass during 1 Dec. 2016 - 31 Mar. 2017.
Australian passport holders of all ages can get a one day lift ticket for 2,000 yen per person during 1 Dec. 2016 - 31 Mar. 2017.
(Hey, what about other nationalities!?)

Anyway if you are eligible and want to take advantage of this, show your passport when you go to buy a ticket.

22 ski hills in Fukushima prefecture are taking part in this campaign but quite a few aren't used to dealing with English-speaking folk, so be sure to learn a few phrases! Grandeco resort is one of the more well-equipped to deal with overseas guests and more than welcoming!
