We had a cracker of a day on the mountain yesterday, started with a bit of fresh snow and as the winds eased, it just kept getting better as the skies cleared a little and left us with moment of bluebird slashing the deep pow.

Today, we’ve received 10cm of fresh snow overnight, expecting another 4-8cm today with tops of -8C. We are feeling some pretty gusty wind this morning, set to bring that wind chill down to -20C.

Mid-week on the mountain would be one of the best times, as there’s not much of a fight for fresh tracks. Though I still recommend hiking 5 minutes up the Green run from the 2nd Gondola and picking a point to drop down, you’ll find plenty of freshies down there and get to enjoy the beauty of the trees after fresh snow.

10am update

Currently the Quad lift isn’t running. Assuming wind troubles perhaps, though it could be something else. These areas are still available — hop on the second gondola and travel around to the quad chair and once at the bottom, there is an over snow shuttle that the resort has organised and will take you back to the Gondola in a few minutes.

Official snow depths:

Top: 415cm
Base: 310cm

Night skiing operations are scheduled at Geto Kogen on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 25th February 2018.

The Number 1 Gondola is out of action at the moment - hopefully back online early February.
