Rain, rain, go away…

Mainly heavy rain, yesterday, with some moderate winds and temps reaching 4C. By about 3pm, the rain slowly turned to snow and we had some messy flakes blown around by the wind into the evening. The snow became light later on, and continued into the early hours of this morning.

This morning we’ve got 2cm of fresh snow, and we’re expecting a beautiful bluebird on the hill with tops of 0C in the morning, but should hover around -3C at the base for the majority of the day. Winds are nice and light, with a cloud or two expected to pass over, clearing again by this evening.

With the relentless rain we’ve had over the past couple of days (and thank god it has indeed decided to relent for now), we’ve lost a fair amount of snow. This shouldn’t impact the conditions too much, as we’ve still got a fair base as you’ll see listed in the stats above, and after a groom and a weeks worth of sunshine coming up, it should (hopefully, please) be smooth sailing for the rest of the week.

It’s a day for the groomers — they should be pretty slick and soft under foot. We’ve had some colder temperatures and we’re in for some more throughout the week, so whatever damage the rain has done, should be rectified with a good freeze and a good groom (and a good cry from me).

Sunday: mostly clear with late snow showers (5-10cm), light winds & tops of 5C
Monday: light snow to clear in the evening, moderate winds & tops of 0C
Tuesday: mostly sunny, light to moderate winds & tops of 8C
