Top day yesterday. If you didn't come off the mountain yesterday just STOKED with the day, then you weren't skiing the same mountain I was! Fantastic soft fluffy snow all day yesterday and excellent conditions.

This morning is much of the same. The skies are bright, with some cloud cover restricting the beautiful view of Tokachidake. It is a long weekend this weekend, so expect the mountain to be slightly busier, but still there is plenty out there for all.

A small amount of fresh snow overnight. 5cm in town will have the early morning groomers in tiptop conditions. Off-piste skiing is still excellent with deep cover on the ungroomed black runs. Yesterday Challenge was knee deep, a bit patchy underneath though which meant you had to watch your edges.

The Halfpipe is HUGE! A true superpipe to international FIS standards and a bunch of local riders are already training for the competition at the end of the month.

Again, Kuma is not open today in an aim to keep long-weekend traffic off the course.

Nearby resorts Tomamu and Kamui are getting regular snow. Tomamu is a bit later than normal this season, but have had some nice falls the last 2 days. They still need a bit more thought. Tomamu have put a lot of effort into their freestyle park this year, having built up a reputation as Hokkaido's premier Park. Kamui is just that (the gods!) (Kamui means "Gods" in the local Ainu dialect). The tree skiing out the back is finally getting better, with more snow expected the next few days.
