Didn't know Sendai doesn't have good ramen, Kintaro. I hear there are so many ramen restaurants in Sendai. Maybe you just have not found any favorite one, Kintaro? Or perhaps too many competitions going on which is almost like a battle - This sometimes kills the industry.

Damn, I didn't know there was a Suzuran in Shibuya, will have to go there soon.

Misoichi's good, they have a few stores around Tokyo, pretty heavy though.

It might be a sellout but I like Ichiran for tonkotsu, volume's small so kaedama is necessary.

And there's a couple of great one man operations near where I live, I like those the most as it's always the same guy making the ramen.

I went to Suzuran last night, right before closing. I mistook the name for Sumire, the famous Hokkaido miso place which I've never been to either. Anyways, they were out of wontons and eggs unfortunately, so I tried the straight miso ramen, and damn, it was good. It was the best new ramen I've tried in a long time. It was so good that I finished the soup! That's definitely going to be one of my regular ramen shops. The noodles had a lot of koshi too, excellent.
