Yuki's Passion 1
Hakata, Onomichi, and Sapporo are all very good - probably Hakata is my favorite though. I like the atmosphere of the Yatai's. Definitely something not to miss if youre in Fukuoka.

Mr Sensational 0
Best ramen I've ever had was in Yamagata. I was told it was "famous", but always a bit sceptical as the the scope of the word as it's used here. Famous in Japan or famous in the tiny village were were at was not specified. gamera 0
Goemon, what kind of powder?? I love miso ramen with enough negi and corn, wakame, chashu, memma! But if it's with too oily tonkotsu soup, a bit tough for me.
kintaro 0
Goemon, never seen anything like that. Sendai ramen sucks. Hokkaido rocks. But if you are in Tokyo, Setagaiya Dori is abundant with oishii ramenn-ya's.
gamera 0
Didn't know Sendai doesn't have good ramen, Kintaro. I hear there are so many ramen restaurants in Sendai. Maybe you just have not found any favorite one, Kintaro? Or perhaps too many competitions going on which is almost like a battle - This sometimes kills the industry.
kintaro 0
Oh, I've searched for years. There is one place in kokobun-cho that rotates other than Sendai raman-ya's but hands down, Tokyo and Sapporo have better ramen.
Goemon 0
gamera: That was cheese ramen at Tsukumo Ramen .
gamera 0
Oh Cheese on top of ramen!?!?!? Interesting combination. Have to try it next time I cook ramen!
grungy-gonads 54
I wonder if cheeseman would approve. That is a lot of powder cheese.
PillowHunter 0
That sounds good actually I'd like to try it. I went to a place one time that had like this sweet goma soup that you put cold ramen into. Different and quite oishii it was.
BagOfCrisps 24
I've grown to be really fond of ramen. Sometimes the meat in there was pretty dire, but it was generally good stuff, and cheap too.
Goemon 0
I also have to give a shout out to Suzuran's miso wontonmen in Shibuya. good goods:

number9 0
Damn, I didn't know there was a Suzuran in Shibuya, will have to go there soon. Misoichi's good, they have a few stores around Tokyo, pretty heavy though. It might be a sellout but I like Ichiran for tonkotsu, volume's small so kaedama is necessary. And there's a couple of great one man operations near where I live, I like those the most as it's always the same guy making the ramen.
Goemon 0
Don't let anyone front on Ichiran; it's all good. fyi, the Shibuya Suzuran is located here (right near the station, wedged between Roppongi-dori and Meiji-dori's intersection).
number9 0
I went to Suzuran last night, right before closing. I mistook the name for Sumire, the famous Hokkaido miso place which I've never been to either. Anyways, they were out of wontons and eggs unfortunately, so I tried the straight miso ramen, and damn, it was good. It was the best new ramen I've tried in a long time. It was so good that I finished the soup! That's definitely going to be one of my regular ramen shops. The noodles had a lot of koshi too, excellent.
