I live with my J-GF and have done for nearly two years. I met the parents after the first year and they seemed fine about it. I'm going there again at New Years and its never been a problem.

Admittedly, my GF is a fairly international sort of person having lived in Canada for a year. Guess it depends on the individuals involved...

Me and my fiance have been living together for a year now in japan(we lived pretty well together for a year in oz too). The dad's cool with it, in fact it might be cos he's a pretty cool dad. Her mother on the other hand...she's not too about it but there's not much she can do about it cos her daughter is with me on this one = )

Why? Norichan

And I agree to OUfreeski2.

I never had any scary stuff for it, but

some of my friends told it kinda scary

even for all of us Japanese men.

Daddies just don't want to lose their daughters.

Yeah it is totally the norm over here. A lot of my friends moved out of their home right after graduating high school into an apartment with their high school sweethearts. It was just more economical to do it that way. Are you saying that most couples do not live together before marriage. I cannot imagine that.
