geeze, and I missed that. I made a huge mistake. Them niggas know their stuffing.

Whew, just read this whole thread from March... Good stuff, for the most part, snowriders have good taste, i guess. Its cool to me how much ski porn can affect music taste. I listened to Dr. Octagon years ago, but it only when Ski Movie 3 was released did I get this unhealthy obsession with Deltron 3030. Kid Koala opened for Radiohead during their last American tour, too.

Swollen Members, Slightly Stoopid (or anything off the ex-Sublime members Skunk Records label), and Supergroove (now-defunkt Kiwi Band that had a few songs on msp's "There's Something About McConkey) all are way up on my list thanks to ski porn. I friend found all the songs off the Ski Movie 2 soundtrack and burned a CD for my birthday, which was a pretty sweet gift.

Anyway, do you guys listen to tunes when you're riding? I heard Jack Johnson's first album awhile back, and thought this one song (middle man) was on a ski flick, and was obsessed with playing it while riding in Utah. Music + snowsliding + Pow = heaven.

Ocean, you have good music taste, but Uncle Tupelo is from S. Illinois, and is probably the most influential band in that alt-country "no-depression" style of music. They broke up in the early 90`s, but formed Son Volt and Wilco. Son Volt broke up and Jar Farrer makes his own stuff, while Wilco goes on with a huge following...

White Stripes in Nagoya was sweet, even if Jack White said he was sick and walked off after 50min.

A great site for checking out bands is here .

Sorry for the long post...

Crazyski, thanks for the education there. I think the album I've got says it was recorded in Texas (maybe), so I just assumed...

I found an old tape of Laurie Anderson in my car, and she sounds pretty good. Anybody remember her? huh-huh-huh-huh- here come the planes huh-huh-huh-huh- they're American planes huh-huh-huh-huh- made in America

The Beloved, "Blissed Out" (remix cd from 1990).

Excellent band.

Mention "Zippy and Bungle" in their lyrics and get away with it!

Currently on is "Your Love Takes Me Higher (Calyx of Isis)" - 10 minutes of a techno-style track, starting off with a woman moaning in pleasure and building up to a resounding "climax" near the end (the end is "blissed out" after the - her? - climax). Awesome.

They were so ahead of things back then in 1990.

bornslippy, used to know Jon Marsh from Beloved back in the early 90s through a friend. Top bloke. Top music too, though they went a bit downhill when his wife came into the band to replace "the other bloke". He's doing lots of producing and remixing now I believe.

Recently someone told me to listen to The Mars Volta. I did and really like it. So I am listening to that these days. But, it reminded me of something from a totally different genre. Propellerheads. So I found some of that mix up and have been really enjoying it again.

Oh yeah, also listening to Nightmares on Wax.

Yeah, I use Google all the time.

But if you're going to bother posting at all, you might as well post something worth reading ie, that contains some information or opinion. Just posting a title is lame.

Thanks for the link ;\)
