snowboard_freak 0
150 000 people turned up to the protest at Melbourne!!! Three times what the expected number was. Sydney should be huge as well. Any Sydney siders out there if you can make it to the protest on Sunday - please do come along!!

Weegeoff 0
There is a lot of protest in the uk, 85% of the peopel are against this war.If Blair backs Bush I do not think he will be long in office
DrMabuse 0
All this "anti-US" (or "them hating us" as many USers will take it) will only stir them up more, methinks.
oo 1
I wrote this in the other thread, but it belongs here too I think. ------------ They just said on the news that there will be "thousands" of people around the world taking part in marches and protests against war this weekend! "Thousands"!!!
wakaran 1
Millions seems more accurate than thousands.
mikazooki 0
nice turnout in londres, there were about 200 people out the front of mitsukoshi last night, and i noted a banner saying iraq something something something. anyone top that for a jappo event?
cheeseman 1
Mr Bush and Mr Saddam should sit down round a nice wooden table with a lovely selection of fresh cheeses from around the world (indeed some crackers and fruit also). They are sure to get on after that nutritious and delicious fun, and maybe even become future friends. That's the best solution, for sure.
enderzero 0
Oraganizers in London (I guess in London they would be "organisers") claimed 2 million protesters yesterday!! Police report 750,000. Either way that is HUGE!! 5000 people in Tokyo by contrast. Pretty pathetic. I am sure db was out there though...
nagoid 4
2 million vs 750000 - you'd think a more accurate number might appear
enderzero 0
There are always huge discrepancies between the amount reported by organizers and by officials. It is way too hard to count that many people. Plus, how many were protesting versus how many were just there, etc.
snowboard_freak 0
Well seems like pretty much everywhere had good numbers!! There was an estimated 10 million people world wide - not too shabby at all. Here in Sydney we had somewhere between 250 000 (police estimates) and 500 000 (organisers estimates). Either way it is a damn good turn out. The city was choked with people.
damian 0
there is our mate SBF on the left wearing the DK's teesirt. Good man Drew! Did you know that this picture is taken right outside a building I used to work in? there you go.

snowboard_freak 0
Good to see this thread has come back up! We had another peace protest today. It was just a local one though and i couldn't make it because i had to work. I hope (but severly doubt) it makes a difference!
RayInJapan 0
I find it interesting there are "millions" who targeting the US and UK in peace protests but it seems not a single one is protesting against Saddam and his murdering regime. Its doubtful the protests will change the course of the US/UK planning...but, If perhaps 500 million around the world protested against Saddam - ya think he would step down?
green 0
Yeah, but Saddam is not the one who is threatening to start the war, is he?
