Big Feet 0
Thinking of doing some snowshoeing/boarding in gassan this spring. Can anyone offer advice? has anyone been there? How long are the hikes and are they worth it? All advice and info would be appreciated. SJ.. Are there any archives on this topic?
slow 0
I have no idea about skiing there. Sorry... But there is a very good sansai restaurant near the Gassan. When you go there, you should try! Dewaya
kintaro 0
I will be there this Spring Big Feet. It's just a little mountain with some snow still on it in the spring. Nothing special at all. Put it this way, if it was January or February you would definitely go someplace else. But, for those of us who just can't stand to end the season it's great. There is one 2-man lift and a rope pull that costs an extra 200 yen per use. That is it. No park, no trees, it's not groomed - nothing. You can hike further for spectacular views!! It's not that much of a hike (30 - 45 minutes). It "worth it" to me! The parking lot costs 1000 yen even on weekdays. It's a bit of a hike just to get to the ski lift from the parking lot. Bring your sun-block. I think they will be opening in May sometime.

CheeseRipper 0
I would love to go gassan! I'm not ready to end the skiing season just yet. It's been a pretty good year of skiing. Drop me a line if you would like to go there. partyngo_2@hotmail.com
