Tubby Beaver 209
The Confession by John Grisham. I like his books until the end, he can never seem to write a good ending
snowbender 3
Too right. I have enjoyed most of his books too, always read a new one he puts out. Anyone into Tom Clancy. Can never get into his.
Tubby Beaver 209
I like his earlier ones, most of them were made into movies, but his newer ones or the ones he has co-wrote have been pretty shitty
pie-eater 207
I remember hating the movie of The Firm after reading the book, but I re-watched that recently and quite enjoyed it. Liked that other one too, what was it Pelican Brief?
tokabochi 9
The Chamber was a decent read if I remember but the movie stunk. I thought they all became very samey.
Kraut_in_HongKong 0
Natsuo Kirino - "Out" (English translation) I finally finished it. Four JP housewives that had to get rid of one of the husbands bodies and do get in unexpected trouble with a few extra twists. Quite a nice crime story. Could be much longer for my taste. RobBright 35
Kraut, read that years ago and is a great book. Now reading Shadow Country.
Tubby Beaver 209
I didn't really like "Out", too slow moving and quite hard work to read I thought, it has put me off reading any more of her stuff.
RobBright 35
Also read number9dream recently too. wow.

HelperElfMissy 42
Be interested to hear what you think of it - I just gotta stay awake long enough to finish a page! Nothing to do with the book .... more like exhaustion. PB is playing rugby in Phuket, so I am juggling ALL the roles in the household.

Tubby Beaver 209
I reckon there's a chance that they'll be cured, albeit temporarily of their rugby problem in Phuket
HelperElfMissy 42
YEah....but doesn't help me find the time to read my book! Maybe I can negotiate a night in a hotel BY MYSELF when he comes back - massage, into bed, read. BLISS!
