The Fuji Rock thread got me thinkin'

1: Who would you like to see..dead or alive..if you could

2: Who do you care to brag about/confess to/ acknowledge seeing...??

If I could see anyone it'd be Bob Marley, without a doubt!

I'v seen a bunch...but memorable concerts would include Depeche Mode, REM, KISS, Tupac, Public Enemy, Black Uhuru, Nine Inch Nails, Porno for Pyros and the '97 Lallapalooza...

REM are excellent, seen them 5 times.

Was at the Rose Bowl for the 101 Depeche mode concert too - is that the one you're on about?

Other great concerts I've been to have been Stone Roses, Radiohead and The Cure.

What were NIN like then?

I know what your talking about but no, I was at the Blaisdell in Honolulu. I envy you! That Rosebowl concert was famous! I actually caught the Nine Inch Nails concert same night about 30 minutes after at a smaller location...saw REM at the Iowa State University campus. 5 x's! I guess your a fan!

One band i am busting to see is Slipknot. I missed their last concert because i was out of the country when they toured. Not happy about that.

Been to fair few concerts but I'm not into the pop music scene so a lot of them aren't huge bands. Some of the better live acts i've seen are Mudvayne, Amen, Tool (they played for 2 hours - crazy shit!), Hed (pe), Blink 182 (seen them a couple of times and they always whipe up a good mosh), Drowning Pool (R.I.P Dave), Slayer with Machine Head - crazy concert that one, Linkin Park, Unwritten Law, Alien Ant Farm, Perfect Circle, Incubus, Limp Bizkit and NOFX. They have to be the stand out acts,

I also really want to see Korn and the Deftones at some stage. The Deftones played here in Sydney when i was in Japan. Bugger.

I may not win in the most countries visited but I am gonna be up near the top of this one. Going to concerts is one of my favorite pasttimes and pretty much if someone I wanted to see came to town in the last 8 years I couldn't live with myself if I missed it. Since Seattle is a popular stop on most tours I have been to many many concerts. I'll try to list some - although I can't possibly remember them all.

Soundgarden 3 times - fave band of all time. Unfortunatley I caught on late and only caught their last 3 appearances in Seattle - Lollapalooza 96 and Down on the Upside tour.

Pearl Jam 3 or 4 times - Riot act tour has been the best.

U2 twice - Zoo TV tour was my first big concert (I was 12) and their latest tour was one of the best shows I have ever been to.

Tool 5 times - 4 in the last 18 months, Once on Aenima tour.

Deftones near 10 times - definite fave

Incubus 3 times - great live

Pantera 4 times - such a great live band - first show stood as my favorite concert for many years...

Nine Inch Nails and Perfect Circle - ...until I went to this show. Nine Inch Nails is atop the list of touring bands I want to see again most.

Built to Spill - around 20+ times - love these guys

Crystal Method 4 times - first was in a concrete room the size of a large living room when they were unknown. Loudest concert I have ever been to.

Limp Bizkit 3 times - back when they were cool they were really cool

Korn twice - issues tour is in my top 10 shows

Well New Zealand sucks ass as far as concerts go, thats the problem with splendid isolation, no band can usually be bothered to come and when the do they usually do a one stop show in Auckland, yet another reason why the rest of NZ dislikes Auckland. U2 came to Christchurch long ago, but I was too young \:\(

Bob Dylan came 4 years ago. Saw him

Pearl Jam in Osaka....

man! Ender you are really fortuneate to live in Seattle and see so many shows

Good lists; I'm only gonna add the most memorable ones (= the ones I can remember?):

Fishbone (at a tiny bar on the Jersey Shore)

Rage Against the Machine (Roseland in NYC)

Beck (at Brixton Academy in London)

Bouncing Souls (everywhere, but Coney Island High in NYC stands out)

Chemical Brothers (in NYC with Crystal Method opening)

Neil Young (all of his one-man shows; guy can play for hours and captivate an audience all by himself)

The band I had a chance to see, but never did was Nirvana. " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />

Im with Kamoshika being from NZ we only get the very occasional concert and its usually something like Brittany Spears or Joe Cocker so thinking about it I dont think that I have actually ever been to a concert, a real proper concert (I wouldnt count dance parties - Makuhari Messe has to be the best location for a hard night on the dance floor Oribtal/Underworld/FatBoySlim/AphexTwin seen some goodies there)

This lack of concerts is something that will have to be remedied.

Who would I like to see? Well the first thing that came into my head was AC/DC?!!! Where the hell that came from I dont know lol.gif

Green Day was good live.

I also heard Jane's Addiction is getting back together for this year's Lallopalooza..I saw their LAST concert at Aloha tower in Honolulu (1991??) and Perry Ferrel got naked on stage. The next time I saw him was w/ Porno and he was making out with a bloody male clown.(the clown had slit his throat)...bare breasted women on stage, flame throwers and sword swallowers...pretty nuts

Jane's Addiction played Fuji Rock Festival last year...opened for Red Hot Chili peppers...

I didn't see the show, but heard it was not so hot...

I guess that shows how fast info travels to Sendai....I seriously just heard the news they were getting back together TODAY! lol.gif But thanks for the info!

I think it's hit or miss w/ Jane's. Depends on how much heroin Perry's on that day....??
