nzlegend 1
Anyone else an athletics fan? I am and I cant seem to find any coverage on the pathetic Japanese TV system. Does anyone know? is it on some obscure cable channel? Its the one thing that really irks me about Japan is the crap TV, perpetually frustrating it is
Goemon 0
kamo: It's showing live on TBS ("Official IAAF Broadcaster for Japan") and also on BS-i. Tonight's coverage starts from 23:30. Here's the schedule for all of their sports programs (in Japanese). How about that sprinter laying down after he got DQ'd for a flase start in the 100m?
NoFakie 45
They've been giving it a good build-up, but it has mainly focused on the actor Oda Yuji who will be offering somewhat less than expert comments. Stuff like "Isn't that Russian pole vaulter pretty!" You have been warned.
damian 0
I just read about one sprinter that refused to leave the track after getting disqualified for a false start. He lay on his back for quite some time, refusing to move. Drama in sport. I also learnt that Australia has the worlds fastest man over 100m. I certainly didn't know that. I bet he wasn't born in Australia!!
mogski 0
Fast Australian?! Isn't that a contradictive statement?
woywoy 0
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/08/25/1061663706293.html He "IS" the fastest man this year but that didn't seem to count for much. Those new disqualification rules are ludicrous. Watching it last night for a few hours you really started feeling for the athletes who were disqualified. Ridiculous rule. They need to get it organised quick smart!
Antonio 0
I disagree woywoy. They used to have a similar rule in swimming and it became tedious watching them all fall in the water then having to wait till they climbed out just to do it all over again. They then introduced the false-start-and-your-out rule and things got a lot better. Given a little time, athletics will improve as well.
Antonio 0
I think Patrick Johnson was born in Australia db. Correct me if anyone knows any different but i think he has an aboriginal mother and Irish father? Anyway, he's quickish!

scouser 4
Anything apart from the J people and you're in no luck, I can't find it anywhere.
Roger's head 0
They may concentrate on the J players the most, but there's quite a bit of coverage on the tv - it was on for quite a long time last night.
grungy-gonads 54
Does anyone here actually watch marathons? How boring! Ms gg likes to watch the marathons when they're on the telly - they're just massive yawnfests to me!
proudtobegay 0
I quite enjoy watching them. I just can't believe that they can run so fast for such a long time, and then seem to recover at the end within seconds. Amazing.
