barok 0
so we started out in the limbo thread, but i think it deserves it's own. i guess I'll just start with some questions that some comments in the other thread brought to mind. 1) Do you know/ have you met any transsexuals? If so, what was your impression ? 2) How would you (gender) label a pre-op Transsexual with male parts (he or she)? What about post-op ? 3) If you met and fell in love/like/lust with a transsexual before you knew their deal, but found out later (from them or someone else) would you, er, be intimate with that person? 4) Do you think Transsexuals are justified in having surgery? I think there was something about this in the Japanese press a while ago - should taxpayers foot the bill to cure them of their malignment? Basically the greatest area of confusion for me on this issue, is where do you draw the line between a woman trapped in a man's body (or v/v) vs. your everyday run-of-the-mill cross-dressing hustler ? mogski 0
You haven't happened to have...well...um...recently...perhaps...fallen for or been taken by a new member of the opposite sex who was previously from the other side?
miteyak 0
1. Yes, there are a number who frequent the bars in Osaka, as I used to. One springs to mind that was often the best looking 'broad' in the joint, quite a stunner, but the signs were there for the weary. Impression, no substance, consumed by sexuality and/or sexual identity. Not surprising really, considering the extent to which these individuals have made their gender the number one issue in their lives. 2. pre-op, transvestite (known a few of those too. Not so preoccupied, regular folk in a dress! The ones I new were heterosexual, not that it mattered, they just wanted to wear a dress. post-op, boy becomes girl is a girl... 3. case by case... wouldn't rule out anything if post-op, but given my orientation, I couldn't see it happening pre-op. 4. Only in the case of mutilations/malformations should surgery be state aided. It's cosmetic surgery. You are who you are. If you feel there are only two types of people, male and female, in the world, I think that's pretty sad. Guys who think they are girls in a boys body have a serious conditioning problem. As a boy, or girl, you can be whoever you like. Be yourself, don't need surgery. Sex changes are as superficial as any other cosmetic surgery.
fukdane 2
post-op, boy becomes girl is a girl... >>>> I can't accept that. They are still a boy.
miteyak 0
no dick, no balls, no testosterone, no boy...
fukdane 2
= girl? Don't think so. = boy without the bits.
miteyak 0
Without the bits, one would have to fall back to the hormone level test, which, given the subjects choice in the matter, would undoubtedly indicate said subject to be female.
barok 0
mit's right about the hormone test. I think there was a case of an female olympic weightlifter, who couldn't compete or had her medal stripped or something, because her hormone test came back male. With all of the steroids those chicks must do, I'm not surprised in the least. I think in that same story there was something as well about her bits test not even being conclusive cuz all the roid use had severely enlarged her clitoris. whole thing could be urban legend though, i dunno. another anecdotal item i heard was that a series of psychological tests must be passed (at least in the US) in order to get the surgery. Not sure if those tests are designed to keep schizophrenics-to-be from mutilating themselves (genetial mutilation is an event that often accompanies the onset of severe schizophrenia) or if they are designed to determine who is in fact, (or believes they are, depending on which side you take) a woman trapped in a man's body. In any case all my life I have been taught that sex does not equal gender, so hey guys, if you want to identify as a woman, or vice versa girls, you can be what you want to in my book. damian 0
knew of a trash bag glam set post op tranny in Sydney that was a regular at all the clubs and parties. She was good to look at and word of mouth advised that she was earning a bomb as a specialist hooker. She ended up suing her doctor as her new 'contraption' didn't work properly. I was enraged at this. All I could picture was: Self obsessed sex bit ego maniac pervert has elective cosmetic surgery, unhappy, litigates, pushes up doctors public liability premiums, kid with a bung liver can no longer pay for surgery, dies waiting in the public health system, glam tranny hooker slag celebrates her win with an eight ball of Colombian blow, a new pair of gucci shades and a magnum of Verve at the latest ritz club. I didn't have the stomach to follow the case and never found out what the result was. I actually met the sour faced dragon on several occasions and was totally unmoved by her and everything that she had to say.
damian 0
hey, it isn't 4.30 yet! The limbo distraction thread can't start until 4.30pm. Barok is a rule breaker.
Ocean11 0
Heheh, I love these threads where a tiny PC, New Age, childless subset of Western humanity goes round in little circles wondering what their genitals are for, and adducing this or that strange thing in support. Heheh, they may be fun, but they're made for reproduction, and if it don't reproduce like a girl, it ain't a girl, even if it has the same 'look and feel'. Now oim going out ta feed tha pigs. miteyak 0
We'll save the chastizing of Barok 'til we've seen if this thread actually aids that limbo...

Ocean11 0
> Without the bits, one would have to fall back to the hormone level test Alternatively, one could fall back to common sense... miteyak, you may not have been present at the birth of a child, but normally the doctor doesn't use a hormone level test to determine sex. I remember one particular transsexual in Osaka whose maleness kept on breaking back out in a manner that would make little children cover their eyes and run away screaming. Right ghoulish it were. miteyak 0
heheh... is a barren (in all other aspects) girl, actually not a girl? ...heheh
miteyak 0
We're talking about those with (through no fault but their own, ridiculous in my opinion, anyway) have neither true male or female parts. I my book, let them be a girl, especially if scientifically they are more 'girl' than 'boy'. I, personally, don't care/need a label, but if they do, let them have it. Ocean11 0
What are the legal implications of actually calling a girl a boy and vice versa? There must surely be some...?

damian 0
The Limbo Distraction is going very well. I conceed that Barok did well to set in motion the momentum to carry us well into the Limbo phase.
miteyak 0
But I fear it is faltering... let's try this... If they can be called 'girls', they can marry a bloke, and adopt kids. They can have a real life, just like you and I...
Ocean11 0
There are already more than enough screwed up people who can actually produce children themselves, without needing to increase the scope of those who are qualified to bring up children. Anyway, I want to hear from badmigs about this 'peeled Cumberland sausage' or whatever it was...
damian 0
Or even better. Two men each get the chop, become dykes, push for legal recognition as gender reassigned lesbians and then adopt children. All with full social welfare support Sounds fair.
