woywoy 0
I did 1kyu the other year and got 69percent. You need 70percent to pass ... I was spewing. Absolutely spewing. I havent done the test since but will give it another go maybe next year.
Bowler 0
mine arrived in the post yesterday! i now have to decide if im to fly through 3-kyu next year or risk taking and failing 2-kyu.
danny 0
theres a big jump from level 3 to 2....
mogski 0
Here on the 1% thingy there for 1kyu woywoy. Was the exact same first time I sat it too. You should fly through it next time though, although I don't reccomend leaving a too longer gap in between in case they stop rehashing test questions.
woywoy 0
Yeah I hear you mogski. Unfortunately it has been 2 years since I sat it and a big lot of study will have to be done for next time if I am to give it another go. I heard they were going to change the format of the test or something but I havent seen any evidence of that yet ... You are a translator or something aren't you mogski? I remember you talking about that intense "Bachelor of Japanese" degree you did back in NZ ... Your Japanese must be way good.
mogski 0
Couldn't be furhter away from translation. I am automobile. Funny the how sometimes the things you study at Uni have absolutley no relelvance on the stuff you do after that.
woywoy 0
mogski: "Couldn't be furhter away from translation. I am automobile ." What exactly do you mean mogski??? Hahaha. Are you in Marketing or something are you??? I hope they pay you well man.

SimonWB 0
I know there is a big jump between 3rd and 2nd Kyu. How long did you wait in between before you did it?
bobby12 0
i tried to go from 3kyu to 2kyu in one year and it was too much for me. i was studying maybe 4 hours a week and living in japan. however, i think i will pass it without much trouble next time..
SimonWB 0
Bobby12, How long have you been studying? And how long have you been living in Japan (if you don't mind me asking)..
indosnm 0
I was thinking of taking the 3 but my teacher thinks too easy. My kanji is what will let me down. Bobby 4hrs?? is that all? Is that by yourself or with a teacher?
bobby12 0
i have been here 2 and a half years. i passed 3kyu after 1.5 years of studying japanese. I do 2.5 hours a week with a japanese teacher, one on one in my house. Then i do maybe 1.5 hours a week either in a group workshop or by myself using my textbook.
wakaran 1
Is the pass mark higher for more difficult the test? I thought it was all 70% pass mark.
ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
I passed. (Just - but who cares!!)
Yuki's Passion 1
漢字・語彙 56pts 聴解 70pts 文法・読解 141pts 267pts/400pts = 66.75% failed level 1 again but wasnt really expecting to pass
big-will 7
Whats the pass rate for that?
Markie 0
Wow, your results come out so quick? I think we have to wait till mid-March for ours in HK. I'm pretty sure I failed mine (Level 3) and even if I passed it would have been by luck. Nevertheless, it's useful for me to see how far I am getting along in my Nihongo. Yuki's Passion 1
70% for level 1 big-will markie, your GF a J-bird or HK?
bushpig 0
語彙 is a prik eh CB! That one dragged my mark down a bit too last year.
Yuki's Passion 1
I was a bit embarrassed when I saw the 56% on that but knew it was coming. After that part of the test I was like, ummm, yeah, I guessed on waaaaaay to many of those only needed 15 points ta get a 70% - 3rd times a charm eh
Markie 0
You're so greedy CB! I let you have one and you keep asking for more! Anyway, let's keep this private OK!
