No, but I dont play sport and nor do know the Australian national anthem past the first paragraph anyway. It always seeemd like a stupid and meaningless song to me plus i am no where near extroverted or theatrical enough to sing as a group of people. When groupy sing-a-longs start up I feel like pulling into my shell and vanishing. This includes groupy national anthem singing and anything else that requires enthusiastic crowd participation (cheering at a sports event or clapping at a concert, christmas carols, singing Happy Birthday etc etc).

I really am on the wrong friggin planet.

From a 'patriotic' perspective I wouldn't sing it anyway as national pride and sporting performance turns my stomach. And the next Australian who calls me un-Australian will get my 7 years of voluntary military service for my country shoved up his over-weight backside (over weight 'cause all he does to be patriotic is sit on the sofa watching 'sports', drinking beer and being narrow minded). ;\)

NZ has lame-o anthem half Maori and half the old "God of Nations at thy feet" Spare me please.

Get a new flag and a new anthem, get rid off Helen Clark and her coalition with the tree hugging hippies while you're at it.....

Dreary, Uninspiring and unmotivating the lot of them

Advance Australia Fair, is much more original and better.

The 'alternative' British national anthem is much better, with quite a beautiful tune.

I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,

Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love:

The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,

That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;

The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,

The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,

Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;

We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;

Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;

And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,

And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace.

Although it's a bit odd that the second verse is all about New Zealand... (The first verse is clearly about income and value added tax.)
