Jessica Simpson's little sister insisted the wrong song played while she performed on Saturday Night Live only contained back-up vocals. The 20-year-old was singing her new song, Autobiography, on the US show when the backing vocals for a previous one, Pieces of Me, blasted out. Unnerved by the mistake, she stopped singing and closed her mouth but viewers could still hear the star singing. She ran off stage and the show cut to a break. At the end of the programme, Ashlee apologised for the gaffe and blamed her band for playing the "wrong song". Later, her record firm and publicist blamed it on a "computer glitch". A spokesman for the show said: "She told us it was only a back-up. "It's not unusual, a lot of people use back-up tracks when performing." Link to post Share on other sites
