fukdane 2
..reform? with new vocalist? http://www.nme.com/news/110904.htm I thought it was "the original 4 or nothing"? I wonder what happened to that. How on earth can you replace Freddie and play under the same name? This smells.
peterson 0
Money, perhaps?
js 0
INXS has tried this a few times too - with disasterous results ... they've all made squillions of money, so why don't they just fade gracefully into music history instead of becoming pathetic shells of former glory. KlingKlang 1
I wonder what Freddie would think.
pie-eater 207
They kept their word until this. You'd think they'd had enough of it all. The new bloke sure has a lot to follow on from.
badmigraine 0
It's Paul Rodgers from Bad Company. A very old dude. And a very different kind of voice. This could be like Tom Waits doing Journey. Or Lous Armstrong doing Aerosmith. I don't get it! Why would famous old rockers want to pack stadiums with throngs of screaming bald men and people whose sunglasses collections stopped with pink or yellow blades...why would they want to accept million-dollar checks for jamming with their friends like in the old days when they were the kings (or Queens) of the world...why would they want to get out of their quiet homes in their 50s, pick up a guitar and relive the rock star dream... When you're in your 50s and sitting quietly at home, and you get invited to do this, well...the sacred promise to Freddie must lose some of its power.
veronica 2
Artistic integrity and all that. Sod it, wheres the cash!
guzzler 0
Well said badmigraine. They might very well look and sound like a joke though.
Wizz 11
It looks like it's just A date, not a full blown tour. I'm sure they'll enjoy it. And I'm sure if it's a success there will be more.
