taguchi 0
Do you have a favorite charity? There are so many, I think it is difficult to decide to which one giving things. I suppose it depends on your ideas and experiences maybe. I'm interested to know how people choosing which to support.

Ocean11 0
Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth. If the environment is not better protected, there won't be anywhere for the poor people who need other forms of charity to live...
Yes-please. 0
Friends of the Earth. My family has some bad memories of a bunch of radical Greenpeace idiots.

Ocean11 0
Something somewhere between Greenpeace & FoE would be desirable. The Japanese organizers of both groups are 10 years behind their UK equivalents.

smiler 0
Unicef is the one I generally give to. A friend is working for them so I hear a lot.
big-will 7
I would never give to Greenpeace. There are far more places I would donate to before them.
slow 0
I'm wondering if anyone here has a charity credit card. Are there many charity credit cards like this? Save the Children Visa card I am so glad to find this and going to change my DC card to Save the children DC card soon.
damian 0
For quite a while I volunteered weekends at a charity homeless men's hostel. I have never given money to charity, prefer to give time and prefer to keep it within my community. I now kind of agree with Ocean11 that environmental charities and NPO's are deserving of the greatest charitable resources. I almost scored a weeknight volunteer role for a local London environmental/community NPO. But they were after a biology graduate who would work full time.... for free. I think that is a little ambitious.
ncorrenti 0
I donate to World Vision when I can. Through its website you can choose exactly how you want your money to be spent, e.g., you can purchase vaccinations, livestock, educational tools, building materials, etc.
snobee 0
Can't say I really rank charities, altho I guess I still distinguish unconditionally between NPO/NGO and trad charities. Nouveau - FOE & Amnesty Trad - Salvos - they're driven, but they more often than not work solely at the rag and bone level and DONT thrust their mission upon people.
firedog23 0
I don't surf but I give to the Surf Rider Foundation. We all can use cleaner water and beaches.
Stefan 0
I haven't given any money to charities for years! But i do tend to give random amounts of change to homeless people. Is that bad? I'm in a dilemma now. Next time I see a homeless person I'll have to explain that I can't give them any money as I have to give it to Friends of the Earth. I'm sure they'll understand.
