nzlegend 1
So 53 of the 200 and something Daiei stores will close. I notice all Nagano Daieis got the chop and so did my local one. Anyone else lose their Daiei? are you perturbed or will just go to another store? I am lucky my neighbourhood is saturated by stores, which is why they probably gave it the chop. (the biggest shopping mall in kansai opening up 5 mins away wouldnt have helped its cause either)
kintaro 0
I could care less. just another j-company that thought the bubble years were never going to end. When you're 2 trillion yen in debt (a personal estimate)I suppose you have to make a couple uncomfortable adjustments. I've heard Wal-mart is looking to sneek in the back door with perhaps a debt-for-equity swap or something.
sanjo 2
I didn't know. I hope the one near me doesn't close, I use it quite often like the food dept.

nzlegend 1
Wal Mart? yeah? I thought they were in cahoots with Seibu? Sanjo I think Niigata was another prefecture that was hit hard by closures -like Nagano.
