sakebomb 0
That is pretty damn disturbing. 1996, what the .... that ain't so long ago!
js 0
'The collusion between Japan's powerful troika of politicians, business and bureaucrats both undermines the media's effectiveness and creates a system which breeds the scandals it should be uncovering.' This answer's a past thread regarding the employment of non-Japanese people into high echelon positions, that is, they are a risk because they're not one of 'the club' and less likely to play by the (corrupt) rules. happyhappy 0
That makes for an unsettling read.
BillTheBinMan 0
Funny, didn't hear about that in the Japanese news. I wonder why.
rach 1
Not entirely related to that thread, but I often feel that the Japanese diet is curiously healthy in many respects but extremely non-healthy in others. Some of the fat/meat you can get here sometimes is just awful, like bad dog-food. Disturbing thing to read though.
Dims 0
Too right Rach, some of the Katsu I got served up at the shokudo at work was 80% fat and gristle. And how much fat do they have on the pork in Okinawian restuarants . Serves me right for choosing the unhealthy menu options I guess
