Yes-please. 0
Hey I am also getting a new pc soon (not quite the beast that is being discussed in that other thread), but I'm interested to know what other people do with their old pcs. Yamada are offering 100 yen to take my old one (yes, ONE HUNDRED!). I'd like to know of (much!) better alternatives.
cal 6
The few I have had in my time I've given away (to family)
Frinkelbean 0
100 yen, that sounds like an amazing deal! wft?! I'd rather give it to someone than do that.
rach 1
I don't have the habit of changing computer so often but my last one went to my nieces. They were well chuffed.
Curt 1
I have my previous one sitting in the box that the new one came in.
gamera 0
I use a database software for managing my customer list by an old PC which is NOT connected to internet that's how an old PC survives and how I can avoid being hacked so important data :-)
mina2 6
I do the same, important stuff on there for piece of mind.
joshnii 2
I sold mine to a friend for a (very nice) meal and some beers. Much better than giving it to a shop.
IIIII 2
I have kept my last one and still use it as a second back up. Just read this too http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/3966481.stm
oo 1
I'm not happy with my pc at the moment, so I'm tempted to say kick them and throw from the top of a very high building.
ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
If you don't want to give them away take the thing apart and sell the parts to some geek shop in Akihabara. They might not give you much, but it will be more than 100 yen!
NutteyCubey 0
There's a shop here that buys them for semi-decent prices and they stip them down and sell on the parts. You're never gonna get much for an old one, but its better doing something with it than it just gathering dust. Just remember to format your drive before giving to someone! klingon 10
How about try selling it to someone on here who might be looking for a cheap 2nd pc.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
How much would you pay klingon? Though I suppose more than 100 yen, a bit of an insult that.
BagOfCrisps 24
Here's a good one >> give them to charity. That is certainly better than storing them never to be used again.
damian 0
There is a sculpture made of old computers painted matt grey that occupies/is an entire wall in a cafe area at the top of a departo above shinjuku eki. From memory it was mainly keyboards and other internal bits. I recon you should tuck away an old laptop so that you can pull it out in 30 years and have a look at it. It will blow you away. What would be cool would be if it still started up. It would sure give the kids a laugh.
Ocean11 0
I generally take my old PC to a remote country road and throw it over the barrier along with my old bedding, TV, comics, empties and everything else. Give it back to the Nature is what I say.
sakebomb 0
Yeah, you and everybody else. Popular option that!!
Yuki's Passion 1
Id like to take mine up the ferris wheel at Hep 5 in Osaka and throw it out the window and watch it fly - if Im lucky it might hit a bosozoku
Yes-please. 0
I decided to give it to charity and that is just what I have done. The 100 yen was tempting but I thought I would do something for someone less lucky.
Fattwins 0
how good is your old system?
