pie-eater 207
I watched Shakespeare in Love last night. Pretty good. Goodfellas on Friday, always rely on that one. Great movie. I hear the BluRay disc one might have Swear-ometer on it.
big-will 7
Bloody Sunday. An account of that day. Controversial as you might expect but an interesting watch for sure. Pretty much unbiased I'd say. Worth a watch.
Tubby Beaver 209
was the doco that was on UK tv a few years ago? If it was, then I'd agree Will, good film, gave both sides and didn't pull any punches.
grungy-gonads 54
Read about that last week actually. Sounds interesting. And now for something completely different, a friend sent me a box set of DVDs of Monty Python - each Python selected his fave clips from the MP series. Funny shit.
tsondaboy 0
can I get a copy of that GG?
bobby12 0
Watched Bruce Webers 'A Letter to True' last night. Very pensive and emotional 'movie' (this is not a traditional movie, more like poems being read over some photographs). http://www.bruceweber.com/movies_true_synopsis.html
Tubby Beaver 209
watched Babel last night, TBH dunno what to make of it. It seemed to heading somewhere, I was enjoying it, then it ended for no apparent reason without tying anything up!! On the plus side there were plenty scenes with Rinko Kikuchi in various states of undress from her school uniform!!

OkemoLoon 0
Just watched Deathproof for the first time. I loved it. Its been out for a while but its sooo effing entertaining. You do have to have an fed'up sense of humor to enjoy it I think. Taratino strikes again. Hot chicks, ultraviolence, and killer dialog. I highly suggest it. But you might not understand if your not a efd'up American.
Tubby Beaver 209
I just got Escape to Victory on DVD, how great is that movie?!!
Oyuki kigan 0
Continueing from a discussion in a thread about books on Japan, "The Rape of Nanking" came up. Apparently, a documentary (and reputedly a very good one) has been made recently called "Nanking". Has anyone here seen it?
IIIII 2
I'm working my way through the 21 disc "The Hammer Collection" - classic hammor horrors. Some of them actually are horrors, but some really good ones in there.
klingon 10
Ah Hammer. Can I take a look when you've finished with it?
joshnii 2
Into the wild - it's based on a true story of a guy who abandoned all his possessions to achieve independence from modern society. He changed his name to Alexander Supertramp (for some reason) then made his way to Alaska. Interesting stuff.
soubriquet 0
Dr Strangelove. Stanley Kubrick: Spartacus, Lolita, Dr Strangelove, Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full metal jacket, Eyes wide shut. Not a bad canon.
2pints-mate 0
Eyes Wide Shut. At least we saw some Kidman flesh, but not enough to make it a good movie. Other ones were definitely passable though.
Chan Allan 0
I don`t know if it`s just me but I feel like modern movies just aren`t as good as they used to be. When i was a kid everything seemed so much better!
Ezorisu 0
That's because all the movies now are lame remakes of all the films you saw as a kid!
Chan Allan 0
Yeah, that`s probably true!
