sanjo 2
I just had some "larmenn" (as they spell it on the front of the shop) tonight at a new ramen shop near where I live. I've got a real bad stomach ache now and the runs, I won't be going back there in a rush.
sakebomb 0
Sounds like a case of the Staph, just drink plenty of fluids, Pocari. It should go away in a few days then you can go back and reek revenge.
sanjo 2
Won't be running back to the shop, but I have been running to the toilet every 10 minutes or so.
sanjo 2
Feeling much better this morning. That was bad bad larmenn.
Curt 1
I've noticed that as well, some people seem to say ramen as if it were "larmen". I've never seen it written like that though. Glad you're feeling better, I've had a few upsets after ramen in my time.
cheeseman 1
A good reliable cheddar is good for an upset tummy. And not only that, but it is also nutritious, delicious and fun to eat.
hora-hora-hora 0
Never with ramen though I've had some suspect gyoza before.
gamera 0
Hum... never with ramen or gyoza for me. I had some with shellfish. They say seafoods which don't have any blood like shellfish, cuttlefish and octopus etc are strongly poisonous sometimes. Unfortunately we have a custom to eat them in raw sometimes, maybe it causes. BagOfCrisps 24
Is there any kanji for ramen? I always saw it in katakana.
gamera 0
老麺 or 拉麺
Giraffe 0
I won't touch most seafood after a really bad experience when I was a kid. I was ill for about a week after eating some bad shellfish. And, of course, it smells real bad too.
DrEvil 0
Lots of ramen places look downright dirty, I wouldn't go in them.
Yuki's Passion 1
There are some good ramen shops in Ashiya where I live - but still think best ramen cities are Onomichi (hiroshima), Fukuoka, and Sapporo.
TheOrange 0
That sounds very Japanese. What makes a good ramen city?
Yuki's Passion 1
Certain regions are just famous for certain things... Hiroshima - kaki (both) Fukuoka - Yatai and ramen Im sure every city though is famous for something eh
TheOrange 0
Yes I know that, thats why I said it sounded very Japanese. Are those things not available elsewhere at all?
Yuki's Passion 1
You can get a bowl of ramen at Geihoku Kokusai but guarantee its not as good as Onomichi ramen. You dont think different cities are known for certain foods - America is the same, isnt it? Georgia Peaches, Florida Oranges ~ No?
nagpants 1
You can get a bowl of Onomichi ramen in places other than Onomichi (can't you?)
yodel 0
Ah but you have to eat it in Onomichi for it to be delish.
Yuki's Passion 1
I dont think Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki in Kansai is the same as back in Hiroshima. Certain styles of food that claim to be from places arent necessairily the same. Obviously not

slow 0
My friend's husband is a website manager of this 麺道 . He is a Ramen freak... I was thinking to visit my sister in California in May for delicious cherries. I can go to Shanghai just for delicious crabs, too. I always enjoy local people and local food.
