scouser 4
Had a good day at Ishiuchi yesterday. Fairly decent snow apart from the bottom runs which were in real need of more snow. Lots of scraping icy sounds going on, not much of that lovely powdery sound. It was like a spring ski day I suppose, and we had a lot of fun. Anyhow took a few photos http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_section.php?userGallery=103&userid=scouser Also curious about the "Wickets" in this photo. Perhaps some cricket activity going on in summer up there.

soubriquet 0
Isn't wicket short for "wicket gate?" "A small door or gate, especially one built into or near a larger one." Glad you had a good day.
JPchucky 0
Ah, you missed out. Ishiuchi was sick on Fri. seemed they had gotten a bit over a foot overnight. Poached pow lines all day till the lifts closed at Ishiuchi/Gala. Shit was waist deep in the trees at Gala, and so damn light. Best snow I've had yet this season, and at Gala/uchi of all places!!! big-will 7
Gala usually gets good snow doesn't it? It's just the crowds on those narrow runs that are the problem there on holidays.
sanjo 2
Yes it does usually get good snow.
sanjo 2
Was at Ishiuchi today and we had a fun day. Up top things were quite good - especially at 'official lunchtime' when the slopes cleared for a bit - and the snow up there was ok. But the bottom slopes are in pretty poor condition. Lots of brown and the snow that is there is the very heavy snow spring like deal.... it really felt like April. Definitely need some decent snowfall soon.
