Powderoo 0
I'm wondering what a good daily budget is. Lunch, dinner, drinks, beer, wine, sake. etc? Everything else is paid for, tickets, accom, breakfast, but I'm wondering what the basic price of things is like in Niseko? TIA. Staying at Lodge Koroporkkuru in Hirafu. dale#1 1
Might be Lunch 1000 Dinner 2000 Drinks 600 yen a beer Depends where you eat and drink of course.
soubriquet 0
A sixpack of beer costs under 1200 Yen in the supermarket. Drinkable wine starts at about 650 Yen, and a bottle of scotch around 800.
DumbStick 13
How much do you drink?
Powderoo 0
I'd prefer to eat and drink what the locals eat and drink. And I reckon 3 beers over dinner, or 2 glasses of will be enough. I heard that beer was expensive? But at around $1200 Yen/$12 AUD a six pack I'd say it was comparable to here?
soubriquet 0
They'll be drinking beer, sake or shochu (clear liquor). Believe me, those are the prices I pay locally. You can buy alcohol in any supermarket and many conbenis. This is a very inexpensive country for drinkers.

I must admit, one of the reasons for going to Japan, is the price of basic things, and the conversion rate.
SirJibAlot 0
10,000 daily is a reasonable assumption. You could probably get by with less. Better to have too much than too little. You may need to buy drinks for a little snow bunny you meet on the slopes.... -SJA
hughcohen 0
the Aussie is currently at it's highest level against the yen since 1997, so it's a good time for Aussie skiers
JPchucky 0
I'd allow 5,000 yen a day since it's a vacation, but I usually only spend 1,000 - 1,500 a day. But I usually bring a bottle of Black Nikka which runs like 650 a bottle and gets you ****ed up. Just bring the ladies back to the room to sip Nikka, they love that shit!! Powderoo 0
...wont have to worry about picking up ladies, I'm traveling with my soon to be fiance. Mind you if it goes horribly wrong and she says no, then I could be in luck in Niseko by the sounds of it!? I have been thinking around 6000-7000 per day, sounds about right. Mind you a massage later in the week could be good, how much for a shiatsu massage?
Curt 1
I agree. 10,000 yen a day gives you a lot of extra, which you may or may not want for chocolate and other goodies on the way back!
thursday 1
You will NEED 10,000 a day. It's a holiday for crissakes so why slum it.
