Kumapix 0
I don't think he'll ever drop 5000$ on a camera. not that I would either. thursday 1
and shooting in DX mode on a D3 gives you 5 meg pixels cos of the reduced area on the CMOS. So why have 12 meg pixels. Like I said before they are starting to strand DX owners.

thursday 1
I think that would've been the first place he'd look but....
bushpig 0
I will never spend that much money Thursday. Even the d300 is pushing my limits. If I ever am rich eneough to want to spend that much on a camera, then I should also be rich enough to drop the money on a new lens to go with it. The 18-200 will suit my purposes fine. And if I buy the d300 then I don't plan to upgrade for a very long time.

bushpig 0
nah mate. If I buy a new lens then it has to be a decent zoom. I'm actually contemplating getting a better 300 or 400mm lens and sticking with my tamron for general stuff for now. Too many options...
Yuki's Passion 1
how obvious are the diff between a lense like a Tamaron vs a Nikon? Same zoom, something like an 18-200??
bushpig 0
sharpness and distortion differences from what I can gather. But I haven't used a nikon lens. The nikon glass is extremely good quality. Tamron is pretty decent, but you can notice some softness when zoomed up on an image.
