WantToSki 0
while it is being discussed in this thread: The resort you spent most of your time this season the resorts wherein we spent most of our time, has anyone really discussed about which resorts they really hate? -- as for me, i really hate "Karuizawa Prince"... c'mon, can you really call that a resort? the intermediate/advanced/expert-level courses are around only 600 meters long (and a couple of meters wide)? skiing at this gradients gets you down in about 2 minutes, and the lifts usually takes 7 minutes to get you back up!?! not only that - rentals here cost a fortune, yes i would understood at least if they are of good quality (like in Naeba Prince) - but they're usually old and worn-out... Oyuki kigan 0
You read my mind. Karuizawa is only a small step from an indoor place
iiyamadude 6
Naeba - when it is busy.

me jane 0
Would have to agree with Karuizawa. Everytime I've been there the snow has been really bad too.
minus 1
Why do people go if it is so rubbish? Easy to get to?

nzlegend 1
Hakuba Highland is good only for young kids and absolute beginners, thats about its only purpose.

They have a really cheap 4 hour lift ticket & train deal which I did a couple of times.
Fattwins 0
its there for the hotel so that they can say that they are a resort hotel

mina2 6
Gala Yuzawa - apart from being convenient, it has little else. When it's empty it's ok, but never seen it like that.
HungryHorace 0
Not HATE, and it wasn't terrible, but the place that most disappointed me was Zao. I was expecting more than I got.
slimeypete 0
I've not been to any I hate. I liked Zao though this year, the snow was awesome.
snowbender 3
Ones that charge 1000 and up for parking. Without exception.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
I'm sure I heard there was one place that charged quite a bit more than 1000 for parking, somewhere down south...... anyone know more?
Amos in Utsunomia 0
There's quite a few rubbish ones near where I am they could all qualify!
joshnii 2
Joetsu Kokusai. Just kidding.... though the lifts are a real pain.
snobee 0
On the parking bit. It pisses me to see camper vans that occupy the same marked space charged o'nite fees that are 3,4x more. Friends last year were hit big by this. Car ¥1000, Van ¥4000 or abouts. As if there's 1,000's of vannies hovering to take over. Ketchi is the only word.
bushpig 0
lemme guess... Mizuho?
griller 9
0 yen weekday and 1000 yen weekend is just way too much of a difference. A more reasonable all round charge would be easier to accept.
snobee 0
Bushy - Mizuho would surely be one. Jeez they're a tight-arse operation. Highest lift prices in Japan with a half day costing ¥4500. Coupla years back they moved the vending machines away from the gondola cafe to force people to buy expensive drinks inside. But they got arguably one of the best setups out west and good snow to boot. Bastards.
bushpig 0
yeah, my feelings exactly Snobee.
