cal 6
Anyone make their way to Kurumayama in Nagano this season? I met someone recently who owns a pension there, said things are very kibishii but has invited me next season. Never been myself...
Ocean11 0
I didn't go to Kurumayama this season but I went once to give my little 'un his first lesson. It's not a particularly wonderful place - in fact none of the resorts around there are, unless you happen to live in Suwa or Chino. Or own a pension or besso there. I can see why it would be kibishii.
cal 6
Thats what I thought. I will check it out next year though
SKI 15
As Ocean said... but of course if you get a freeby there and get to stay with a friend. There are some nice places up there actually.
Ocean11 0
> There are some nice places up there actually. Yes that's true. The whole Kirigamine area is wonderful. I got rather blasé about it living near there, but it would certainly make a nice change from Tokyo. I believe people cross country ski there too.
white-void 0
That area is to the south of Matsumoto right? How far is it by car?
Woollyman 0
Pretty good place really. No real terrain, but steeper than average groomed slopes. Read my jive here; http://www.snowjapan.com/e/voice/readrereview3.php?resortName=Kurumayama%20Kogen&prefecture=Nagano
nagpants 1
Not a bad place. If you're traveling there are better places of course but if you are in the area and have a friend with a pension, sure you'll enjoy it.
