ncorrenti 0
SubZero, I don't find it that bad. I usually trip out to NZ each year and maybe spend a few days at Perisher. This year I'm planning to do NZ, Perisher and Canada or Japan after Christmas.
sava 0
I'm going to be skiing in Aus for the first time this year! Probably going down to Wanaka or Queenstown in July,... I am ski-deprived
ncorrenti 0
Really, July? I've always found August to be better in terms of snowfall. Which NZ resort is your favourite?
sava 0
I've only been to Mt Hutt and Mt Olympus! I might go in August, it depends on teaching You?

ncorrenti 0
Well, the one and only time I've been to Cardrona I just had a ball. We got great snow and there weren't many people there so we were able to relax and take our time. Also, I learned to snowboard there (they have a great park) so I have fun memories

Yes, August is generally the best for weather and snow conditions in Oz. Have done the four ski fields around Queenstown NZ - not Mt. Hutt. Ah, have fond memories of Q-Town ... And also skied Wakapapa & Turoa in the North Island. Give Wakapapa a go - in good conditions (which we had a week of!) it was REALLY good. (Turoa was pretty iffy) Accommodation is close-by in the township of 'National Park' - a ten minute scenic drive (not sheer cliffs to negotiate). Plus, if you wanna have a rest day, can do lots of bushwalks around the volcanoes or go to various thermal spots. Would do both areas again - Queenstown ones and Wakapapa. Nice places, nice people and great vistas.
